A Good Day
Sometimes the best plans are the ones that don't happen.
It was a beautiful day and my intention was for Vince and I to ride. I hadn't heard from him all day and I kept expecting a call. Finally around 4 he showed up. He rolled his bike out and started taking his handle bars off. WTF? It's the best day we've had since last summer and we should be riding but instead he's tearing into his bike. That's Vince though, you never know what he is going to do next.
He grabbed an old set of ape hangers and started fitting them up. With the 6" risers that he was running the bars were too tall for his clutch cable so off they came. I had a stock set that worked so we refitted the bars and hooked everything up. He liked the way they looked and it opened up the riding position, making it more comfortable. After everything was said and done, he just had enough time for a quick spin around the neighborhood to see how they felt.
Even though we never did get to ride, we both had a great time working on his bike together. It was good to see him get excited about the change he made and to hear him talk about his plans for the rigid frame chop that he wants to build.
The weather is supposed to be even better tomorrow...
