Steve Canyon

This is an old Steve Canyon comic from the mid-eighties. There are so many elements of cool here. First off, he is running a Vincent, for God's sake (sans front fender!) with a bed roll tied on. Also the fact that he is riding with aviator goggles and no helmet gives a nod to personal freedom of choice that was still the rule at that time, rather than the exception.

And then there is the dialog. While he digs riding and the exhilaration that speed brings, she can't get past the safety aspect of it. To me, it sums up the old 'if I have to explain...you wouldn't understand' adage pretty well.

You'd be hard pressed to find anything like it today.
