A Helping Hand
Sometimes it seems that the more things change, the more they stay the same.
This is a picture of Gail helping me working on the '82 when we lived in West Seattle back in the late eighties. Fast forward to today and you'll still find Gail helping me work on the No Love Shovel.

The Birth of Independence
While you are celebrating this 4th of July with family and friends, take a moment to give thought to the immensity of what our founding fathers accomplished.
Against staggering odds, they confronted one of the most powerful nations in the world. They fought for their ideals and beliefs, and through sheer determination they hand-forged this country.
Kind of makes you want to rethink about bitching because your beer is too warm, doesn't it?

Busted!
Well, I made it 300 miles into the trip before the No Love Shovel quit on me. I had a lot of confidence that she could do it. God knows I put enough money, time and effort into her and had numerous builders take their turn doing what they do best, but yet, it wasn't enough. The thing that gets me is that I tried, I mean really tried, to make sure she could make the trip.
I have to say though that when she ran, she ran really strong, and man, did it feel good. I forgot how much I enjoy being on the road. It was my therapy. Not sure what my next step is going to be, but I'll figure it out.
In the meantime, I'll be a bastard to be around for a few days...

B.F.L.F.D.F.
I'll be getting up in about 4 hours to head to So Cal for BF5. It's been a strange couple of weeks and I'm not sure what the final outcome will be as to who is going, but that's the nature of these kinds of trips. You just never know what's gonna happen next.
I look forward to being on the road and just focus on what's in front of me.

Shit Happens
Chris went down to Portland today to pick up his bike after having the motor rebuilt. As he was on his test ride, he blew through a stop sign (that was covered by an overhanging tree branch), and center-punched a pickup. He'll be sore, but he's ok. The bike, not so much. The frame and motor seem to be fine, but that sweet Paughco springer is toast.
And here is the real bitch, we were set to leave for BF5 in a week. Right now Chris wants to get the bike home and figure out his next step. He is a fighter, so I really don't expect him to be down for long.
PS. Anybody in the Seattle area have a Triumph front end for sale?
